My research focuses on the use of phylogenetic and bioinformatic tools for plant molecular systematics. I have incorporated phylogeny-based approaches to study the evolutionary value of taxa and ecosystems, with a focus on aiding conservation efforts. In this area, I have been focused on the study and application of phylogenetic diversity and related indices for the evaluation and conservation with special interest in Chilean and Mediterranean endemic flora.
